Chart Action...

About time we had some half decent content up here eh?! After checking our MySpace for the first time in forever before I noticed that I hadn't put a chart together since July, which is pretty crap. So here are two new charts from us, one for last month and one for this month. The tracks aren't in any order, just as they came to me...

SEPTEMBER

01 Zinc - 128 Trek
So I now have 3 versions of this in me CD wallet! This one is however undoubtedly the most playable at the mo, a smart little rework that brings the track bang up to date. Also a sure fire winner for the dancefloor.

02 Udachi & Jubilee - Smoke Rings (Luna-C Remix)
Really wasn't expecting this on the package when the release dropped in the inbox! Big old skool breakbeat vibes are always gonna take my fancy tho so this gets as many airings as possible.

03 JDS - The Purple Funky Monkey (Koma & Bones Remix)
More old skool breaks vibes here found during a random scout through the breaks releases. Not fond of the vocal sample but that's nowt a quick little edit didn't fix!

04 Sigma - Front 2 Back
I'm a sucker for the big obvious heavy b-line jump up stuff. It ain't particularly clever, but it makes me want to dance around like a tit, which makes it most excellent.

05 Untold - Just For You
Loving Untold's shit at the mo, and this one's seriously heavy. Big bass and some dark rolling beats, made even better when the second drop comes around!

06 Patric La Funk - Xylo (Bingo Players Remix)
Bingo Players are officially monsters, everything they do is massive! This ones got that typical drop heard in most of the dutch house stuff, but then a wonderful square bass comes in that makes everyone want to jack.

07 Mowgli - London To Paris
Killer track from Mowgli, quite possibly my favourite of his to date. Sounds like you're mixing in a funky techno thing circa 2003 Marco Bailey, but then it goes all disco-like and has a catchy as hell drop, massive biggles.

08 Killa Queenz vs. HeavyFeet - Bitches (Remix)
We dropped a Killa Queenz acapella on some random beat lying around that we didnt know what to do with and this was the result. A quirky little take on some of the funky shit kicking around right now, we're well happy with the result!

09 Subscape - Wrong Number
Subscape is the acceptable face of the LFO'd basslines in dubstep for me right now. Obviously the low end is well large but the bass isn't too in yer face and allows the track to do other stuff too, which is nice.

10 Logistics - Warehouse My pick off Logistic's new album. Big jungle vibes throughout and some hardware crunch on the drums brings it bang up to date. Always gets dropped when I get the chance to delve into a proper bit of dn'b at the end...

OCTOBER

01 Two Fresh - Bhanga (B. Rich Remix)
Not even had chance to play this one out yet, but really into the vibe. Reckon it could be useful at various points in a set and I'm gonna play it lots. Really really digging Barrett's production stylee at the minute.

02 Skream - Burning Up
Have seen several tweets from Skream recently banging on about jungle vibes and whatnot. It would appear this is the first of such releases and it bangs - old school in just about every way apart from it's release date...

03 Malente - I Like It (Riva Starr Remix)
Bit of a Pete Tong track this one imo, but hell it just keeps on grooving and the sample never fully drops, which I really like! Where a crowd appreciates a good bit of house music, this is a guaranteed winner.

04 Kid Sister - Right Hand Hi
Heard this a while back and it's finally about to drop. Was well surprised to hear Mr. Angello (I think?) is the man behind the backing track too... Love Kid Sister anyhow, the epic riffage only adds to my liking of it!

05 Drumsound & Bassline Smith - R U Ready?
Heavy, heavy jump up biznezz here! I've shied away from dropping it at a couple of non-drum n' bass friendly nights for fear of the heaviness scaring peoples. It's a definite spin when the crowd like it mashup tho!

06 Drop The Lime - Set Me Free (Reso Remix)
Heavy bass, clicky percs and some nice chordage = a big win from Reso. Didn't expect this sort of sound from him, but then I don't keep tabs on all his stuff and seeing as this sound is so big right now I suppose it was kinda to be expected.

07 Baobinga & ID - Unknown
The man Bao popped round the other day and dropped off this but I've no idea what it is asI didn't write the title or label info down. He did make a point of emphasising the effect the quirky riff has on people, I was sold and I'm sure others will be too, big fun!

08 Act Yo Age feat. Drop The Lime - Hornheadz (Acid Kids Remix)
Bit of a non-descript track this, in a good way though. A quirky little house track that, like the B. Rich remix, can be used at various points throughout the night. Solid piece of production that allows itself to not do a huge amount and still be well good.

09 Aquasky feat. Slipz & Dapz - You Know We Do It Big
Big bassline come breaks from the boys, 'bout time there was new Aqausky material! The faster it's played the better it works! Would love to hear more tracks like this but apart from High Rankin's output there really ain't a huge amount...

10 B. Rich - Make Me Dance (HeavyFeet Remix)
Not massively new to us seeing as we finished it a couple of months back, but it's been doing the business solidly on the dancefloor and it's due out in the near future, so a chart placing seemed appropriate!

Peazy,
J
