HeavyFeet ft. Miski - Are You Dumb?
(Original, Club Dub & Dre Skull Remix)
Release Date: 06.09.10 - Stamp! Beats

Grimey, edgy and seriously heavy is one way of describing HeavyFeet’s sixth release on Stamp! Beats. Dropping chunks of hip-hop, grime and dubstep into the mix, ‘Are You Dumb?’ reaches for the 140bpm zone and stamps out a fresh, urban footprint from the HeavyFeet stable. After hearing DJ Target playing Miski’s ‘Lady Noisy’ on BBC 1Xtra in early 2010, HeavyFeet began a collaborative relationship with the young London-based MC resulting in ‘Are You Dumb?’, recorded at the state-of-the-art 5.1 surround sound Binary Cell studios in Liverpool. Since recording with HeavyFeet, Miski has signed a management deal, is currently putting the finishing touches to her first mixtape and has collaborated with UK rapper, Page, and wonder-producer, Bless Beats.

With the original featuring full female vocals, both MC’d verses and a catchy sung chorus, a pulsating, deep, growly bass and choppy hip-hop club beats, it makes for a strong start to the single package… without you knowing what’s coming! The Club Dub also enters the 140bpm tempo bracket, however this time with sparse vocal use, a distinctly deep, dubstep-focused bassline, regularly switching into a neat, driving 4/4 section, complete with hooky synths and sinister stabs. Straight off a plane from Jamaica and into his New York studio, dancehall producer Dre Skull brings proceedings to a close with a foot stomping, juke-meets-dubstep remix, tackling roughed up 808 drums, a half time verse and crazy pitch builds in one of the most out there remixes seen on a Stamp! Beats release so far.

HeavyFeet ft. Kovas - We Came To Party

(Original, Club Mix & Tom Stephan Remix)

Available now on Stamp! Beats

Jumping straight in with the summer party vibes, ‘We Came To Party’ is the fifth single HeavyFeet deliver for 2010, featuring none other than the bubbling starlet that is Brooklyn-based producer and vocalist extraordinaire, Kovas. With his recent success following remixes and co-production work for Will-I-Am (ft. Usher), Justin Timberlake, Ciara and M.I.A, HeavyFeet and Kovas began a translantic collaborative relationship which saw HeavyFeet complete a remix for Kovas’s ‘Ghetto Beat’ label, and in return Kovas deliver the killer ‘We Came To Party’ vocal to return the favour.

With bold, edgy synth lines weaving their way through the track, big, beefy kick drums and super-wide Timbaland-style claps, the Original Mix delivers a party orientated hip-hop vibe with a hugely uplifting chorus (featuring the talented Hannah Talbot on backing vocals) and thumping, head-nodding verses. HeavyFeet’s own Club Mix goes all out on a tropical vibe, featuring wacky tuned percussion, big room friendly, hands-in-the-air pianos and plenty of growling sub bass on the drops. Tom Stephan, a Pacha NYC resident and one of HeavyFeet’s favourite producers, steps up to the remix plate to deliver a huge club mix complete with select dubbed out vocal chops, driving bass stabs, white noise bursts and a humongous kick drum.

The original mix is available to download for free below, check out the Club Mix and Tom Stephan remix too. DJ support on this release comes from the likes of LA Riots, Roska, Scottie B, Black Noise, Larry T, Jacob Plant and many more...

HeavyFeet ft. Jon Rice - Saving Me
(Original, Club Dub & Black Noise Remix)
Available now on Stamp! Beats

There’s supposedly sunny weather on the horizon and a much needed boost in temperature may just help HeavyFeet with their current studio-tan complexions! Fortunately, their fourth release is here to offer the perfect accompaniment to those lazy summer days when the good weather vibes do finally arrive.  With recent airplay on Radio 1, 1Xtra, XFM, Kiss and Galaxy FM, and widespread media coverage courtesy of DJ Mag, IDJ Magazine and The Times Online, Stamp! Beats is gearing up for what is sure to be a successful summer ahead.

Sheffield has delivered some great vocalists over the years (Steve Edwards and Pete Simpson to name two) and now breakthrough Steel City singer, MC and beatboxer, Jon Rice joins this list. ‘Saving Me’ sees HeavyFeet take on the bubbling broken beat scene to great effect, focusing on pulsating, chromatic synth chords, chunky, live drum breaks and an array of traditional broken beat instrumentation as Rice (recently compared to London vocal starlet Ben Westbeech) belts out a wonderfully simple, jazzy vocal hook. HeavyFeet’s own Club Dub is a further take on some of their favorite dancefloor flavours, tackling bashment, funky and breaks with their typical heavy drum sound and ever present sub bass. Southern Fried Records’ men of the moment, Black Noise, deliver a suitably styled summer anthem, complete with sampled disco vibes, funky club drums and select cuts from Rice’s catchy vocal line...  it’s got Ibiza written all over it!

HeavyFeet ft. Bubbz - Young & Dumb

(Original, Club Dub & Nick Thayer Remix)

Released 07.06.10 - Stamp! Beats

‘Now you may think you know it all, but in truth son, you don’t know shieeet’ - Bubbz delivers some well remembered words of wisdom to the young men of today via Young & Dumb, the brand new summer-tinged single from HeavyFeet, which makes reminiscing about school days cool, quirky and down right naughty!

Amidst old-skool hip-hop beats, a catchy melody line and a rolling, laid back bassline, Bubbz drops one of his finest trademark tongue in cheek vocals yet, encouraging smiles and summer time fun all round. The Club Dub encompasses stripped back Dutch house style drums, repetitive synth hooks and choice cuts of vocal over a pounding sub bass. Dance music’s favourite ex-pat, Nick Thayer, rounds off the package with a storming main room mix, featuring a thumping, garagey drum groove, injected amongst snippets of the original vocals and melody, this time with the addition of one of the nastiest, heaviest basslines heard this side of 2010.

Only six months into 2010 with recent airplay on Radio 1, XFM, Kiss and Galaxy, and widespread media coverage courtesy of DJ Mag, IDJ Magazine and The Times Online, HeavyFeet are laying solid foundations for a successful year ahead.

Each month for the next year Stamp! Beats will offer an original HeavyFeet vocal track, club friendly mix and guest remix. The original of each monthly release will be given away for FREE through a variety of online resources, encouraging fans to download, feedback on and share HeavyFeet's new and exciting material. The importance of artist-to-audience communication, high quality production and regular output in this new digital era is paramount. The concept is simple; avoid the traditional album format and allow fans more regular access to fresh musical offerings and exciting club friendly remixes.
